Quality Specialist - Southaven, Mississippi
**Responsibilities**
**This position will be located 100% on-site in Southaven, Mississippi**
Works with the management team to ensure the quality system essentials exist for all assigned areas. Responsible for developing and maintaining the quality program for the work unit in collaboration with the management team. Represents the laboratory in all accreditation inspections and oversees the proficiency testing program.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship/we will not sponsor or transfer a visa for this role. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F1 STEM OPT extension program.**
**_This position is a limited-tenure role intended to support the formation, launch, and stabilization of a new company and laboratory. As the organization matures, the role is expected to transition to a permanent infrastructure position within a separate company operating independently from Mayo Clinic Laboratories._**
**_Responsibilities and schedules may vary as operational milestones are achieved with the anticipated post-launch schedules:_**
**_First Shift: 2:00 AM - 10:30 AM_**
**_Second Shift: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM_**
**_Third shift: 7:00pm- 2:30am_**
**_Tuesday-Saturday_**
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution
OR bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in addition to a certificate in MLS.
Two years of relevant laboratory experience required.
**Additional Qualifications:**
+ A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.
+ Experience in basic clinical laboratory quality management concepts and regulatory and accreditation requirements.
+ Self-motivated, highly organized, efficient, and ability to exercise strong decision-making skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
+ Experience with data collection, organization, analysis and delivery of information.
+ ASCP or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty and prevailing regulatory requirements.
