**Subject Matter Expert (SME)** Bachelor's Degree + 20 years relevant experience + relevant technical certification/license Master's Degree + 18 years relevant experience + relevant technical certification/license or PHD + 16 years relevant experience + relevant technical certification/license Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Applies domain and expert technical knowledge.
A degree specializing in Engineering, Mathematics or Science is preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage the technical systems engineering life cycle: requirements analysis, configuring, design, development, testing, and deployment of systems. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot high-level technical and non-technical issues. Experience in evaluating, testing, deploying and maintaining both custom developed and third party software upgrades. Demonstrated ability in creating and maintaining system architecture and troubleshooting documentation. Experience with performing engineering and/or scientific research, studies, and analyses of specified technological, scientific, programmatic, and operational issues. Demonstrated ability to prepare plans and assessments, such as management engineering plans, integrated support plans, and implementation plans.
The Systems Engineer labor category must perform the following functions and responsibilities at a minimum:
+ Documents research, studies, and analyses in technical reports, briefings, and other presentations.
+ Provides expertise in the application of state-of-the-art technology to meet FAA mission goals and milestones
+ Provides technical assessments and recommendations via reports and briefings, including operational readiness
+ Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems
+ Directs overall system level testing. Provides expertise on all aspects of telecommunications engineering including design, engineering, configuration, test planning/development, test execution/analysis, performance optimization, and training
+ Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man- machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution.
+ This position requires extensive travel throughout the United States.

**Position Details:**
+ Pay Rate / Range:__$70-76/hr
