-\tDefines and evolves the business unit's 3- to 5-year growth strategy, including market, client, service, and geographic priorities.
-\tIdentifies and prioritizes emerging markets, client needs, and adjacent growth opportunities.
-\tLeads unit level go to market planning and supports priority client and market pursuits.
-\tGuides pipeline strategy, pursuit prioritization, and resource alignment to improve win rates and growth efficiency.
-\tDelivers market, client, and competitor analysis to inform leadership decisions.
-\tIntegrates external insight with internal performance data to guide portfolio investment, expansion, or rationalization. Serves as the unit's expert on the market and competitive landscape.
-\tLeads critical business unit wide strategic initiatives, including new market entry, solution development, digital growth, and delivery model innovation.
-\tDrives prioritization of innovation initiatives and roadmap alignment.
-\tSupports the evaluation of strategic partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions, assessing strategic fit and growth potential.
-\tSupports strategic workforce planning aligned with growth priorities.
-\tEstablishes governance, milestones, and performance tracking for key initiatives.
-\tCoordinates business reviews and provide insights to business unit's leadership on market outlook, performance, and progress against strategy.
-\tAs required, manages staff, evaluates performance, mentors and plans career paths, approves PTO and training, ensures company policies are followed and makes recommendations /approvals regarding staffing decisions.
-\tIdentifies and closes capability gaps among direct reports, providing team management and talent development support to foster career growth and required skills.
-\tLeads key hiring of business and/or strategy critical positions. Maintains overall high staff morale.
-\tPerforms other duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
-\tBachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, or related field.
-\t15 years of related experience with at least 5 of those years in a management or leadership capacity.
-\tEquivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
-\tDomestic and/or international travel may be required.
-\tThe frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

**Skills and Abilities:**
-\tStrong understanding of the unit's business markets, client buying dynamics, and competitive landscapes.
-\tProven experience developing and executing growth strategies in complex, technical organizations.
-\tExpert ability converting market leads/new business opportunities into sales; and coordinating handoffs to project management and digital delivery teams.
-\tDeep analytical capabilities, including financial modeling and business case development.
-\tDemonstrates clear, concise communication with a strong bias towards value creation resulting in a unified roadmap for sustainable growth and continuous innovation.
-\tExperience with market research, segmentation, and competitive analysis.
-\tProven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
-\tStrong commercial acumen, including pricing, sales strategy, and partnership development.
**Background Check and Drug Testing Information:**

$169,520
**Pay Range Maximum:**
$347,506
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
