Product Design Manager
**Summary:**

Meta is seeking a Product Design Manager to lead a team of product designers working across one or more of Meta's core product areas. In this role, you will set design direction, develop design talent, and partner with cross-functional leaders to shape product strategy and deliver experiences that serve billions of people. You will drive design quality and operational excellence across your team while championing the responsible integration of AI into design workflows and processes.

**Required Skills:**

Product Design Manager Responsibilities:

1. Lead and develop a team of product designers, providing coaching, career guidance, and actionable feedback to help individuals grow and deliver high-impact work

2. Drive design strategy and vision across multiple large-scale product initiatives, translating organizational goals into focused design plans with clear milestones and measurable outcomes

3. Partner with product management, engineering, data science, and research leaders to define product direction and align design work to business and user needs

4. Establish and uphold a high bar for design craft and quality across the team, setting benchmarks and mentoring designers to deliver at scale

5. Champion the adoption of AI tools within design workflows, modeling effective and responsible AI use and building AI fluency across the team

6. Proactively identify integration opportunities across related product surfaces, resolving cross-team design challenges to improve the coherence of the overall product system

7. Recruit high-potential designers and future design leaders, building a team known for inspiring work and a strong collaborative culture

8. Drive design organization-wide initiatives that materially improve the caliber, efficiency, or satisfaction of the broader design team

9. Communicate design strategy and decisions clearly to executives and cross-functional stakeholders, anticipating risks and enabling timely, well-informed decisions

10. Foster a team culture of trust, psychological safety, and continuous improvement, ensuring individuals feel empowered to raise concerns and take smart risks

**Minimum Qualifications:**

11. 8+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating high-quality, shipped consumer or enterprise product work

12. 4+ years of experience managing product designers, including coaching, performance management, and career development

13. Experience leading design strategy and execution across multiple large-scale, cross-functional product initiatives simultaneously

14. Experience influencing long-term product vision and roadmap in partnership with product management and engineering leadership

15. Experience recruiting and developing design talent, including identifying high-potential designers and managing performance across a team

16. Experience integrating AI-powered design tools into team workflows and establishing responsible practices for AI use in the design process

17. Experience driving design systems adoption or design tooling improvements that increased team efficiency or quality at scale

18. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

19. Experience working on products with significant cross-platform or cross-regional complexity, requiring alignment across multiple organizations

20. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

21. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

**Public Compensation:**

$201,000/year to $278,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
