Laboratory Technician
**Snapshot of your Day**

This Laboratory Technician role is a position created to
ensure business continuity and provide essential technical capacity for the VR
Jackson switchgear manufacturing facility. The position directly supports
production quality and reliability through applied laboratory services. To
achieve these objectives, the role is structured around three core areas:
conducting detailed testing and analysis on materials and components, managing
the setup, calibration, and maintenance of all laboratory equipment, and
ensuring meticulous documentation and compliance with safety standards. Given
the focus on non-routine analysis and equipment oversight, the ideal candidate
will possess advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures from extensive
experience, proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues, and a strong
background in quality control within a manufacturing environment. A vocational
degree in a relevant technical field is highly desirable.

**How to make an Impact**

+ Perform routine and non-routine biological andchemical analyses on materials and components, including sample preparation andensuring data integrity.

+ Troubleshoot testing issues and collaborate withengineers to support the design and execution of controlled researchexperiments and trials.

+ Set up, configure, install, and maintainlaboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure accurate and efficienttesting operations.

+ Conduct calibration, preventative maintenance,and safety checks; diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimizedowntime.

+ Accurately document test results, research data,and maintenance activities in laboratory systems, and prepare detailed reportsfor engineering and quality teams.

+ Ensure compliance with laboratory safetystandards, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and manage inventory of laboratorysupplies and chemical agents.

+ Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities,with a focus on identifying issues and implementing practical solutions

+ Proficiency with relevant tools, technologies,or software specific to the role, with a willingness to learn new systems asneeded

+ Excellent time management and organizationalskills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in afast-paced environment

+ Attention to detail and commitment to deliveringhigh-quality, accurate work

+ Adaptability and a proactive mindset,demonstrating the ability to handle changing priorities and take initiativewhen needed
