Job Summary
The Field Education Specialist serves as a liaison between the University and P-12 district partners. This position collaborates with educator preparation programs and P-12 districts to secure clinical field placements for all licensure programs. The Field Education Specialist educates licensure students on the placement process, coordinates P-12 district placements, and provides ongoing support to students and district partners throughout the field experience process.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Facilitates P-12 field clinical placements, including observation, practicum, and student teaching placements for all educator preparation students.
+ Consults and collaborates with educator preparation programs across the University to determine acceptable clinical field placements.
+ Supports the Educational Field Experience Director in organizing professional meetings for educator preparation students, University Supervisors, and P-12 partners.
+ Maintains detailed databases including information relating to clinical field placement locations, cooperating teacher information, and P-12 district information to promote varied experiences for licensure students.
+ Gathers information from educator preparation students across the University through the administration of the student teaching registration to assess clinical field placement.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
