Managing Director, AI Strategy & Applied AI
**Overview**

The Managing Director, AI Strategy & Applied AI (MD), serves as the senior strategist and practitioner to the Senior Managing Director, Data Science and AI. This role has direct responsibility for the technical substance and delivery quality of Cayuse's data and AI work across business development, client advisory, training, and external thought leadership. The MD serves as a thought leader on the most strategic engagements and as lead on engagements, training programs, and content products that extend the practice's reach beyond what any single leader can deliver.

All duties and responsibilities performed in accordance with the Core Values of Cayuse.

**Responsibilities**

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Business Development and Proposals

+ Lead technical drafting for data science and AI sections across federal, state, local, and commercial RFP responses, with depth in healthcare-specific procurements.

+ Build and maintain a library of reusable capability narratives, solution architectures, case studies, and proposal frameworks to shorten response cycles and improve win quality across service lines.

+ Partner with the Proposal Center of Excellence as the designated technical authority for data and AI content.

+ Identify data and AI opportunities embedded in non-AI RFPs and shape responses to surface them.

+ Client Advisory and Delivery

+ Lead workstreams for client engagements, including healthcare engagements involving clinical data, claims data, social determinants of health, and population health analytics.

+ Conduct technical assessments, draft roadmaps, and produce client-facing deliverables that meet the standard of work the Senior Managing Director would sign off on.

+ Translate complex technical findings into briefings that resonate with non-technical executive audiences.

+ Apply healthcare-specific data, privacy, and regulatory considerations to engagement design, including HIPAA, the HITECH Act, 42 CFR Part 2, and FDA guidance on AI/ML-enabled medical devices.

+ Training and Workforce Development

+ Design end-to-end AI training curricula for Cayuse service lines, including learning objectives, case studies, exercises, and assessment materials.

+ Deliver training directly to Business Unit teams and Umatilla Indian Reservation students, tailoring content to technical depth and audience context.

+ Build the training function as a durable Cayuse capability with reusable content assets, rather than a series of one-off sessions.

+ External Representation and Thought Leadership

+ Develop conference presentations, white papers, and published content under a Cayuse-branded authorship.

+ Represent Cayuse at industry events when the Senior Managing Director is not the required speaker.

+ Contribute to the practice's external presence in responsible AI, federal AI policy, and workforce reskilling.

+ Internal Capability Building

+ Maintain Cayuse's internal perspective on the AI tooling landscape, model selection, agentic architectures, and responsible AI practices.

+ Brief Business Unit Executives on capability gaps and roadmap recommendations.

+ Serve as a technical sounding board for senior leadership on emerging AI questions.

+ Other duties as assigned.
