**_What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health_**
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
**Responsibilities**
+ Support maintenance of core SQL Server and Oracle databases, including schema design, performance tuning, indexing, and operational stability
+ Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
+ Automate recurring data ingestion, transformation, and validation workflows
+ Improve reliability, observability, and performance of data pipelines over time
+ Support developers, and business stakeholders with data questions and investigations
+ Document data structures, business logic, and ETL processes - including conducting recurring trainings and data information sessions with end users
+ Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues
+ Develop subject matter expertise of a custom pricing application, business processes, and master data
+ Focus on continuous improvement to deliver solutions that improve profitability and customer experience
+ Deliver timely and effective communication to stakeholders and impacted partners for progress updates and implementations
+ Perform ad hoc analytics and database development to support applications and cross-functional teams
+ Identify, design, and implement process improvements by automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery for greater scalability
**_Qualifications_**
+ 2-4 years of experience, preferred
+ Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
+ Proficient in SQL (SQL Server preferred) preferred and familiar with other database technologies (e.g., HANA, Oracle, PostgreSQL, BigQuery) preferred
+ SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or similar ETL tools experience preferred

**Location:** This position can be remote and based anywhere within the United States. Candidates must be able to work within the EST or CST business hours.
**Anticipated salary range** : $80,500 - $103,410
