Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee the full accounting function for a growing organization in Mississippi. This position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable managing daily transactional work while also leading month-end activities and producing accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently across a broad range of responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations independently, serving as the primary finance and accounting resource for the company.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable activities with accuracy, timeliness, and attention to supporting documentation.
- Prepare customer billing, including detailed and customized invoicing based on specific client requirements.
- Complete month-end close procedures, including journal entries, general ledger review, and reconciliation of key accounts.
- Perform complex account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
- Produce financial reports and supporting schedules for leadership to support business decisions and operational planning.
- Maintain the integrity of accounting data within QuickBooks and ensure transactions are recorded correctly.
- Assist with audit preparation by organizing financial records, responding to requests, and supporting financial statement review activities. Requirements - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for full-cycle accounting functions.
- Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, and preparation of journal entries.
- Demonstrated experience with account reconciliations and resolving complex accounting variances.
- Familiarity with financial statement audits and preparing documentation to support audit requirements.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and confidence working within a small-company accounting environment.
- Ability to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and detailed customer billing processes independently.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize multiple accounting deadlines with minimal supervision.
