Job Title: Tooling and Process Engineering Technician
Job Description
The Tooling and Process Engineering Technician supports the Industrial Engineering department in planning, designing, implementing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on maintaining accurate layouts and data in industrial engineering systems to ensure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, and cost control at the production site. The technician collaborates closely with Industrial Engineers to document processes, analyze time studies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
+ Support the Industrial Engineering department in planning, designing, implementing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems at the production site.
+ Assist the Industrial Engineer in maintaining layouts and data within industrial engineering-related systems.
+ Assist in preparing and conducting time studies and developing time estimates for production processes.
+ Update site and project layouts as directed by the Industrial Engineer to reflect current and planned operations.
+ Update key process maps and process data to ensure accurate documentation of product and material flow.
+ Maintain the Product-Process-Time database (IEDB) to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
+ Enter configuration data into SAP, including Bills of Materials and part master data, in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Input configuration data into the Manufacturing Execution System, including routes, steps, and process times.
+ Standardize production and process documentation across the site in alignment with global, regional, and site directives.
+ Support the Lean organization by maintaining accurate data for process improvement activities and initiatives.
+ Document processes clearly to support mechanical assembly, kitting, Kanban, and other production activities.
+ Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product flow and material flow optimization.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and engineering objectives.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering.
+ Up to 0 years of prior professional experience required; suitable for recent graduates or entry-level candidates.
+ Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project for process and project documentation.
+ Proficiency with AutoCAD for updating and maintaining site and project layouts.
+ Knowledge of industrial engineering principles related to process improvement, product flow, and material flow.
+ Ability to perform and assist with time studies and develop time estimates.
+ Strong process documentation skills for capturing and maintaining accurate process maps and data.
+ Critical thinking skills to analyze processes and identify issues or opportunities.
+ Effective problem-solving skills to support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
+ Ability to support mechanical assembly processes through accurate data and documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of industrial engineering tools such as work measurement, process mapping, and facility design.
+ Familiarity with Lean concepts and practices, including kitting and Kanban systems.
+ Experience or coursework related to mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to work with Product-Process-Time databases or similar data systems.
+ Experience or familiarity with SAP for entering Bills of Materials and part master data.
+ Experience or familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems for configuring routes, steps, and process times.
+ Strong attention to detail when maintaining layouts, databases, and configuration data.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with Industrial Engineers and cross-functional teams.
+ Willingness to perform a variety of duties and adapt to changing priorities in a production setting.
Work Environment
This position operates in a clean contract manufacturing environment focused on high-quality production and process reliability. The role is primarily based on-site, working closely with Industrial Engineering and production teams. You will regularly use computers and engineering software such as Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, and AutoCAD, as well as enterprise systems like SAP and a Manufacturing Execution System. The environment emphasizes structured processes, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement through Lean methodologies. During the initial contract period, vacation and holiday time are not provided, with the potential for conversion after approximately six months. The work setting supports collaborative problem solving, data-driven decision making, and adherence to established production and process standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
