Executive Director, Ophthalmology Scientific and Life Cycle Management Strategy
**Job Description**

The Executive Director of Global Marketing for Ophthalmology will be responsible for developing and implementing the scientific and Life Cycle Management (LCM) strategy and plan for all assets in the ophthalmology portfolio. This is a key leadership role on the ophthalmology global marketing team and will lead collaboration with cross-functional leaders to ensure a coordinated franchise approach for Scientific Leaders across our company's ophthalmology assets and will lead the commercial strategy elements for LCM activities. This role is a business-critical position that will be instrumental in helping our company build a leadership position in the ophthalmology therapeutic category and contributing to establishing ophthalmology as a key growth driver for our company.

This role reports to the Associate Vice President, Global Ophthalmology and is responsible to support enterprise wide commercialization preparedness. For more than 35 years, our company has been committed to scientific research and discovery (R&D) in ophthalmology. Today, we are developing a series of options designed to help people manage and treat retinal conditions, with the goal of reducing the growing burden of eye diseases worldwide. We remain committed to working together with our partners in the global ophthalmology community to address the complex challenges that impede progress toward improving eye health.

The Executive Director will play an important role in supporting the commercial transformation and leadership of our launches, including new ways of working, embedding advanced analytics, evolving the commercial models and building value for patients, payers and healthcare professionals (HCPs).

**Specific Responsibilities Include:**

+ Lead the development of the overall scientific and LCM strategy for ophthalmology and ensure the commercial vision is integrated into cross-functional plans

+ Lead the development of the Scientific Leader engagement strategy and plan for ophthalmology assets and ensure a complementary and coordinated approach with our company's ophthalmology portfolio

+ Coordinate closely with the brand leads to ensure a seamless and coordinated Scientific Leader and Healthcare professional experience across multiple HCP segments

+ Embed Scientific Leader insights into the development of all brand elements to contribute to the development of a robust launch and portfolio strategy with clear product differentiation

+ Lead the development of a commercial model that optimizes the customer experience and minimizes points of friction in must-win markets

+ Build and lead a team of 2 FTEs to deliver on key objectives for the ophthalmology business

+ Collaborate with Regional Commercial Leaders and cross-functional partners (medical, policy, access, advocacy, etc.) to optimize the value of ophthalmology assets for the HCP segment

+ Partner with our Research & Development Division's Clinical and Outcomes Research team to ensure the commercial perspective is embedded into cross-functional partner strategies and tactical plans with full alignment with portfolio priorities

+ As a key leader in the Ophthalmology Franchise, this role will create organizational excitement, momentum, confidence and focus on the Ophthalmology portfolio

+ Collaborate with Ophthalmology Global Marketing Colleagues to invest in each other's development, build a culture of inclusivity and challenge the status quo for the purpose of creating stronger outcomes

**Education Minimum Requirement:**

+ Required: Bachelor's Degree

+ Preferred: Advanced Degree (MBA)

**Required Experience and Skills:**

+ Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience across marketing, sales, market access or related experiences in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries and at least 3 years demonstrated in-line marketing experience required.

+ Industry expertise in ophthalmology, with a focus on retina

**Preferred Experience and Skills:**

+ Prior launch experience preferred.

+ Leadership and Impact: Proven track record of high-performance launches and driving business results.

+ Innovative Thinking: Demonstrated ability to leverage innovation to drive results

+ Collaboration & Influence without authority: Strong collaboration skills, both within commercial teams and cross divisional teams including R&D and manufacturing, medical affairs, Outcomes Research and Access

+ Communication: Ability to clearly articulate messages/information across the enterprise and to all levels, including highest levels of senior leadership

+ Understanding of Drug Development Process (Early and Late Stage)

+ Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to analyze complex data and create clear patient and customer centric strategies

+ Challenging Status Quo: Ability to push past internal obstacles to drive initiatives forward

**U.S. Hybrid Work Model**

The salary range for this role is

$255,800.00 - $402,700.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
