In this advanced individual contributor role, you will set technical direction for incident management, lead complex problem-solving and defect reduction initiatives, and champion improvements to security, reliability, and compliance for both commercial and U.S. government customers. Your expertise will directly influence Oracle's most essential and highly regulated business lines, including healthcare, financial services, public sector, and more.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Provide technical leadership and vision for network incident management initiatives, shaping response strategies, leading high-severity event resolution, and driving continual improvement of operational processes across Oracle's Global Industries Units.

+ Own and enhance problem management and defect reduction programs: establish standards, oversee in-depth root cause analysis (RCA), and champion implementation of scalable, long-term preventative solutions.

+ Serve as the technical lead during major incidents and post-mortems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure rapid remediation and capture key learnings for continuous improvement.

+ Architect and deploy advanced automation frameworks (Python, Ansible) to increase operational efficiency, lower manual error, and accelerate response and recovery efforts.

+ Define, monitor, and report on performance and reliability metrics; recommend and implement strategic initiatives to improve network availability and reduce defect rates.

+ Develop and maintain critical documentation, including incident response runbooks, RCA reports, network diagrams, and regulatory compliance evidence.

+ Mentor and guide engineers across GIUs through technical reviews, playbook development, and training sessions, promoting a culture of operational excellence and ongoing learning.

+ Ensure all operational activities, including incident and problem management, comply with relevant regulatory frameworks (FedRAMP, HIPAA, and others) and support audit readiness.

+ Collaborate with engineering, security, compliance, product, and customer-facing teams to deliver robust, scalable network solutions and support complex business initiatives.

+ Track industry trends and emerging technologies, piloting and integrating advancements that enhance Oracle's network operations.

**Technical Qualifications**

+ Expertise in enterprise network design, operation, and advanced incident/problem management for large, complex, and regulated hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.

+ In-depth mastery of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DHCP, DNS) and experience with major vendor technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, F5).

+ Advanced proficiency with cloud networking-especially Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS-as well as automation frameworks using Python and Ansible.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead root cause analyses, implement organization-wide defect reduction strategies, and drive sustainable operational improvements at scale.

+ Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration and communication; ability to influence technical decisions and drive alignment across multiple business units.

+ Expert documentation and technical writing skills for operational processes, compliance artifacts, and incident reporting.

**Additional Requirements**

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

+ 8-12 years of progressive experience in advanced network engineering, incident management, or operational leadership roles.

+ U.S. citizenship is required; must complete enhanced background screening per federal government regulations.

+ Eligible to work in North America and able to comply with all requisite background and compliance checks.

+ Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation and respond to urgent operational needs as necessary.
