**Job Description**

**Oracle AI Science:** M2 Data Research and Development Manager (AI Data Tools)

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) AI Science Team is seeking an experienced and driven Data Research and Development Manager to manage our data tooling and dataset efficiency initiatives. This pivotal role requires a technically astute leader who excels in designing AI data solutions, orchestrating efficient execution, and supporting data excellence. You will drive the development of advanced tools that empower our data annotation teams and shape robust data governance across Oracle's AI portfolio.

**Basic Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

+ 7+ years of combined experience in software development, AI data pipeline/tooling, or data science-at least 3 years in a technical management role.

+ Proven expertise in AI training datasets, evaluation metrics, and annotation processes.

+ Demonstrated experience building software solutions to support AI/ML data initiatives, preferably in a large-scale cloud environment.

+ Track record in managing and mentoring teams of developers, engineers, and data professionals.

+ Excellent project management skills, with hands-on familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

+ Superior communication skills; able to translate business/legal requirements into technical deliverables.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience in developing or managing AI training, evaluation, and compliance tooling.

+ Familiarity with privacy-preserving ML, secure data annotation, and enterprise-scale data platforms.

+ Previous collaboration with legal or compliance teams on data and governance topics.

+ Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills in ambiguous and evolving scenarios.

**Responsibilities**

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Guide a multidisciplinary team developing data governance tools, data pre-processing, and analytics platforms to increase annotation efficiency and compliance.

+ Manage the delivery and continuous improvement of platforms that enable effective AI training, evaluation, and monitoring across OCI's AI programs.

+ Partner closely with legal, product, and development teams to gather requirements, translate them into actionable roadmaps, and deliver on key business objectives.

+ Oversee execution of data governance tooling initiatives, supporting high quality, productivity, and compliance in a rapidly evolving technical landscape.

+ Foster cross-functional communication among program owners, legal, and business stakeholders-including effective reporting on project status and risks.

+ Champion ongoing process improvements, tool automation, and best practices for data handling, privacy, and security.

+ Stay informed on regulatory, ethical, and technical standards for AI model data.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
