**Job Description**
Oracle Health & Analytics PSR team is looking for a hands-on CMTS/Senior Staff Engineer or Solution Architect with deep expertise in database internals, query optimizers, tune dimensional model (Star schema) on Oracle DB, and end-to-end analytics query performance optimizations. This role leads complex design, performance remediation, and modernization initiatives across large-scale, cloud-native enterprise systems. You will partner with product, SRE, data, and application teams to architect resilient, cost-efficient, and high-performance data platforms and services.
If you are passionate about optimizing and architecting high-performance software products, this is your opportunity to make an impact at scale.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
+ 12~15+ years of software engineering or related experience, with significant time in database-intensive systems.
+ Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; able to influence across teams and exec stakeholders.
+ Experience in design, implement and tune dimensional model (Star Schema) on Oracle DB. Oracle Analytics semantic modeling concepts.
+ Expertise in Analytics query optimizations (rewrite / tune) on Oracle Autonomous Database (Exadata)
+ Deep expertise in DB internals and optimizers for major RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server); mastery of SQL tuning and execution plan analysis.
+ Strong understanding of cloud computing and enterprise software architecture (multi-region HA/DR, zero-downtime migration, data governance).
+ Solid experience with solution involving Java/J2EE, Python. C++ to build data-centric services
+ Proficiency with load testing, profiling, and analysis tools in distributed/cloud environments; proven track record resolving performance, scaling, and stability issues.
+ Knowledge of open-source cloud technologies: Kubernetes, Kafka, distributed caching (e.g., Redis), Elasticsearch, big data ecosystems.
+ In-depth knowledge of Linux, containers, virtualization, compute, storage, and networking fundamentals.
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience ).
**Responsibilities**
Key responsibilities include:
+ Own database performance engineering across critical services: workload analysis, indexing strategies, optimizer guidance, execution plan analysis, and SQL tuning at scale.
+ Diagnose and remediate systemic performance, scalability, and stability issues across RDBMS-backed microservices in distributed/cloud environments.
+ Design and evolve data-centric architectures (OLTP/OLAP, hybrid, HTAP) including schema design, partitioning/sharding, caching strategies, data lifecycle and archival, and capacity planning.
+ Optimize Analytics and OLTP query performance on Oracle Autonomous DB. Lead deep dives into DB internals (transaction processing, concurrency control, locking/latching, memory management, cost models, statistics management, I/O paths, query execution engines).
+ Establish performance baselines, SLAs/SLOs, and end-to-end observability (tracing, metrics, profiling) for data-intensive services.
+ Drive optimization for cost, throughput, and latency using load testing, profiling, and systematic benchmarking.
+ Guide microservices design patterns for data access (connection pooling, circuit breaking, retries, idempotency, backpressure).
+ Provide architectural leadership for cloud deployments (Kubernetes, Docker) with strong attention to security, reliability, and compliance.
+ Mentor engineers; review designs and code; set best practices for SQL, schema evolution, migration safety, and production readiness.
