The Process Engineer is a member of the Manufacturing Excellence team, reporting directly to an Area Manufacturing Excellence Leader (AMEL). The Process Engineer will be assigned to the one of the operating areas of the mill (Fibers, Power or Paper) at the Vicksburg Mill and is responsible for partnering with the areas to develop and execute continuous and deliberate improvements as well as cost reduction idea generation and implementation of approved ideas.
**The Job You Will Perform:**
The Process Engineer will be responsible for process improvement efforts in their assigned area/department, including:
+ Ensure Manufacturing Excellence (ME) principles are fully utilized in the area through identification of realizable gaps and development of plans to achieve targeted improvement and results
+ ME principles are properly utilized in daily operations for continuous improvement
+ Management of process improvement efforts within the area for fiber, energy, chemicals, reliability, productivity, quality, engagement and customers
+ Coordination of the identifications, evaluation and prioritization of performance improvement opportunities
+ Demonstrate safety leadership efforts and encourage/support safe work practices in mill
+ Support Cost Reduction/Deliberate Improvement project identification and execution
+ Drive mill initiatives in the department to engage employees in improvement/sustain activities
+ Lead/provide ME support to project teams on budget initiatives (deliberate and continuous)
+ Advocate for sustainable improvement practices and systems
+ Support department's 5S effort
**The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:**
The following qualifications are required for the Process Engineer position:
+ B.S. degree in Engineering or related degree
+ 2+ years of experience in process engineering
+ Previous experience in Pulp and Paper is highly preferred
+ Candidate will be expected to become IP Green Belt certified if not already
+ Possess good written and oral communication skills
+ Possess strong computer knowledge and skills that include experience with spreadsheets, word processing, and Minitab (and/or other statistical analysis software)

+ Must have demonstrated the ability to set expectations with stretch goals and measure work to determine degree of goal attainment
+ Must have demonstrated the ability to manage project / process improvements and guide a team to successful completion of a task
