Job Summary
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for intensive instruction and/or diagnostic assessments for students at the DuBard School for Language Disorders with oral and/or written language disorders, including the written language disorder of dyslexia, speech disorders and/or hearing impairments.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Conducts formal and informal assessment and individualized or small-group instruction for individuals with oral and/or written language disorders, speech disorders and/or hearing impairments. Writes therapy plans and collects student data for progress monitoring.Support students with social, emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.
+ Conducts conferences with colleagues, parents, and school district personnel, as appropriate, on issues related to the program, students enrolled and potential enrollees.
+ Supervises and mentors University clinicians, student workers and volunteers in clinical practicum.
+ Writes and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) for students and monitors progress toward goals; writes student reports and maintains student records.
+ Works cooperatively with other staff members to determine appropriate services for students.
+ Adheres to University and department policies, procedures, and regulations and other duties as assigned.
