Manufacturing Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will design, implement, and sustain processes and systems that enhance safety, quality, and productivity. You will work to eliminate waste in terms of time, money, materials, energy, and other commodities while managing, tracking, and controlling operations as well as performance improvement processes.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and distribute engineering data to manufacturing to ensure timely transfer of information from design engineering to manufacturing technicians.

+ Monitor and provide engineering support to ensure customer products are manufactured economically and meet management goals and quality expectations.

+ Analyze deviations and develop, implement corrective actions.

+ Review customer delivery projects for raw materials and consumables, ensuring timely availability for continuous manufacturing.

+ Collaborate with leadership to develop equipment and tooling justifications and purchasing documentation.

+ Review quotations, support vendor selections, and ensure received tooling and equipment meet acceptance criteria and quality expectations.

+ Develop and implement approved improvement projects targeting quality, cost, and delivery performance.

+ Assist production supervisors in troubleshooting process and quality problems.

+ Perform root cause analysis and develop countermeasures based on the PDCA process.

+ Write work instructions and assist in training.

+ Develop specifications for new equipment and TPM requirements.

+ Support equipment installation and operational qualification activities.

+ Analyze plant layout and propose improvements for manufacturing flow.

+ Assess labor content to set process standards and evaluate variances.

+ Assist in the creation of time-based Standard Work for all tasks.

+ Collaborate with other departments to develop technical solutions to manufacturing problems.

+ Apply statistical tools to complex problems and teach these tools to others.

+ Play a leadership role in the Plant Safety Program.

+ Understand Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies and their impact on work.

Essential Skills

+ 4+ years of experience in an industrial heavy-duty manufacturing environment.

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

+ Experience with layout design and SolidWorks.

+ Knowledge of and skill with statistical tools such as DOE, 6 Sigma, and SPC.

+ Advanced knowledge of CAD software.

+ Advanced logical and critical thinking skills.

+ Working knowledge of MS Office, PLCs, and equipment control systems.

+ Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.

+ Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

+ Advanced knowledge of Continuous Process Improvement processes like Kaizen, VSM, and PDCA.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Advanced knowledge of 5S-6S methods, Toyota Production System tools, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Batesville, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $99000.00/yr.
