Job Summary

The School of Education at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) invites applicants for a tenure-track position beginning in August 2026 with requirements to be physically present on the Hattiesburg campus. We aim to recruit applicants who will emphasize training students to become reflective p ractitioners who use action research and data-driven inquiry to solve real-world challenges in education. Area of research interest is open. This position will primarily support the Specialist and Doctoral programs in Educational Administration while also contributing to the Research, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment (RESA) program through teaching research methods and statistics courses. Courses include online and hybrid delivery formats. Qualified applicants will be prepared to contribute to the mission of the School of Education at the graduate level.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

+ Teaching and mentoring graduate students in educational administration and research.

+ Contributing to the mission of the university and profession through service activities.

+ Conducting and disseminating high-quality independent research

+ Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have :

A doctoral degree in Educational Administration or closely related field (by August 2026)

Five years of educational leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

+ Experience setting clear performance expectations and provision of meaningful feedback.

+ Experience and/or familiarity with technology use, particularly in the online learning environment.

+ Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, concise and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner to everyone.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching graduate courses in educational administration and research/statistics.

Experience supervising doctoral students in research, action research, capstone, or dissertation work.

Knowledge of P-12 improvement and methods to assess improvements.

Leadership experience at the district level
