We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer 2 to join our Humana Data & Analytics team - BI (Business Intelligence) team. A successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI reports using Microsoft SQL Server to connect actions to data sources to reduce manual processes.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer II to join our Humana Medicaid Data & Analytics - Business Intelligence (BI) team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and is passionate about transforming data into actionable insights.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer II, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards, leveraging Microsoft SQL Server to automate and streamline data processes. Your work will directly support strategic decision-making and reduce manual efforts across the organization.
**Key Responsibilities** :
+ **Design and Develop BI Solutions** : Create, implement, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports by integrating data from multiple database sources to support business decision-making.
+ **Requirements Gathering & Analysis** : Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.
+ **SQL Optimization** : Write and optimize complex SQL queries to ensure high performance and data accuracy across reporting solutions.
+ **User Training & Support** : Provide training sessions and ongoing support to end-users, enhancing adoption and effective use of Power BI and other BI tools.
+ **Documentation** : Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical designs, data models, report configurations, and development processes.
+ **Agile Collaboration** : Work within the Azure DevOps environment to manage tasks
+ **Business-Centric Reporting** : Develop reports tailored to the strategic and operational needs of our internal business partners, ensuring clarity, relevance, and actionable insights.

**Required Qualifications**
+ Willingness and ability to work standard business hours aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST)
+ Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL programming, including query optimization and data manipulation
+ Minimum 2 years of experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards
+ Minimum 1 year of experience with Power Apps and/or Power
+ Proven experience working with both Medicaid and Medicare data sets
+ Demonstrated ability to leverage reporting solutions to address complex business and data challenges
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
**Work-At-Home Requirements**
+ At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
+ Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
+ Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided with a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
+ Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
+ Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
+ Experience working with Databricks for big data processing and analytics
+ Familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics and its data modeling capabilities
+ Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar project management and collaboration tools
+ Demonstrated ability to integrate and analyze data from multiple sources
+ Strong enthusiasm for learning new tools, technologies, and data environments

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$66,800 - $91,100 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
