Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

The Humana CPSS Data & Analytics - BI (Business Intelligence) team is a high performing team focused on data, data visualization, and data science supporting Humana's Service Operations. The team is focused on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who can utilize to reduce administrative cost and improve the customer's experience. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer position will be supporting BI work for our Medicaid organizations.

The Humana CPSS Data & Analytics - BI (Business Intelligence) team is a high performing team focused on data, data visualization, and data science supporting Humana's Service Operations. The team is focused on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who can utilize to reduce administrative costs and improve the customer's experience. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer position will be supporting BI work for our Medicaid organizations.

This individual will be responsible for:

+ Developing and maintaining robust T-SQL queries and stored procedures

+ Designing and implementing scalable data models to support business intelligence and analytics requirements

+ Utilizing Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) to create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations

+ Collaborating with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications

+ Performing data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance improvements

+ Presenting findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear and concise manner

+ Mentoring junior team members and provide technical guidance and support as needed

**Required Qualifications**

+ Minimum 6 years of strong Data Analytics experience

+ Minimum 6 years of technical experience in SQL with advanced experience in T-SQL

+ Minimum 2 years of experience in the development of interactive reports using Power BI and Databricks

+ Minimum 2 years of experience in Power Apps and Power Automate

+ Advanced skills in reporting tools such as SSRS or SSIS

+ Knowledge of Medicaid or Medicare services

+ Advanced data analytics skills and reporting experience to include working with large complex data sets within large organizations

+ Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction

+ Expertise in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, Access, and/or PowerPoint

+ Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership

+ Proven experience consulting with and building relationships with business partners

+ Critical thinker who can anticipate team needs and take initiative to present ideas, ask the right questions, and deliver the highest quality work

+ Self-starter that can work independently with minimal direction, take ownership, and anticipate future consequences and trends accurately

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals

**Work-At-Home Requirements**

+ At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

+ Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

+ Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

+ Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

+ Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field

+ Experience working with Medicaid and Medicare data

+ Expertise in creating analytics solutions to drive decision making

+ Prior or recent experience in conducting forecasting or trend analysis

+ Process Improvement methodology experience or Agile methodology experience

+ Process documentation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience

+ Experience in creating Stored Procedures

+ Knowledge of Azure Dev Ops

+ Knowledge of Data Lakes or Snowflake

**Pay Range**

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$89,000 - $121,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
