This position is responsible for supervising, organizing and directing the activities of the division accounts receivable function, maintaining the general ledger system and administering/maintaining the fixed asset function. The position is also responsible for providing information and support as required by division management for decision-making purposes.
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:
Reports directly to the Division Controller. Responsible for the supervision of two non-exempt employees in the accounts receivable department. This responsibility also requires a close working relationship with other departments within the division to accomplish objectives established for the accounting function.
Essential Functions:
+ Insure compliance with corporate objectives and systems for accounting
+ Audit divisional procedures to ensure compliance relative to divisional self - assessment internal control program
+ Prepare and assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, reviews and analysis
+ Participate, coordinate and review month-end and year-end closings
+ Provide timely reports as required to division, group and corporate on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
+ Maintain fixed asset inventory records including the taking and reconciling of fixed asset physical inventories in accordance with corporate accounting policies
+ Oversee account's pa y able function
+ Train, develop, assist and instruct direct reports according to company policy and sound employee relations.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in accounting is required.
+ 3-5 years of Accounting Experience
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
+ Certification or Advanced Degree Preferred
