Job Summary

The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking a Director for the Dixie Darlings, the Pride of Mississippi's precision dance line. The Director will coordinate all choreography for the group at daily rehearsals, maintain attendance and scholarship records, coordinate all auditions, coordinate participation at football games and other required events, work closely with the Dixie Darling Alumnae Association to assist with events, and work closely with the Director of the Pride of Mississippi Marching Band.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

+ Serve as the Director of the Dixie Darlings

+ Facilitate all classes, rehearsals, and choreography sessions

+ Maintain attendance and scholarship records

+ Coordinate all auditions for new members and veteran members

+ Coordinate participation at football games and other required events

+ Work closely with the Dixie Darling Alumnae Association to assist with events for Homecoming and other activities throughout the year

+ Work closely with the Director of the Pride of Mississippi Marching Band

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Experience as a dance instructor / choreographer.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

+ Ability to teach and coordinate a group of 44-50 university students.

+ Ability to travel with the Pride of Mississippi and complete overnight stays, when required.

Preferred Qualifications

Former member of the Dixie Darlings.
