**Job Description:**



?Created after 9-11-2001, the Department of Homeland Security consolidated numerous agencies' data centers for central management. CSRA plays a key role in the Department's IT integration strategy through its Data Center-1 program. CSRA's DC-1 program is committed to delivering an efficient, responsive, and mature data center operation through excellence in service delivery, performance, and continual service improvement.



We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer



Job Description



+ Maintains routine data network hardware and systems; investigates, resolves and/or escalates network and hardware matters of significance; researches, analyzes and isolates errors; assists in assessing and updating older networks as needed and in accordance with specified plans.

+ Provides first line of technical support on data networks for internal and/or external customers; answers routine technical questions; recommends and implements approved course of action.

+ Installs and maintains data network including hardware and software.

+ Assists in design, implementation and maintenance of LAN and WAN networks in accordance with specified requirements

+ Prepares data network diagrams and drawings to document and assist in communicating current operation status of networks.

+ Performs data network configuration and configuration changes of various data network equipment such as routers, switches, intelligent hubs, multi-function switches…etc.

+ Prepares change request documentation as per customer requirements.



Required Skills



+ Good knowledge of network routing and switching protocols

+ Good understanding of firewalls and firewall rule contexts

+ Thorough understanding and/or experience with Variable Length sub-netting

+ Good understanding of OSI layers



Preferred Knowledge and Skills



+ Some hands-on experience in configuring switches

+ Minimal experience or a good understanding of Nexus Operating System (NX-OS)

+ Strong understanding of the purpose and configuration of virtual LANs (VLANs).

+ Degree preferred

+ Must be a US Citizen
