Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to an assigned patient population. Working collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the RN assesses patient needs, develops individualized care plans, administers medications and treatments, and evaluates patient outcomes. This role promotes patient safety, delivers high-quality care in accordance with KDMC policies and accepted nursing standards, and serves as a leader and advocate for patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.
Requirements
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
Experience
Previous nursing experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure
Current Mississippi Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Current CPR certification required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required within the first year of employment.
Special Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Demonstrates competency in required nursing skills as verified through competency checklists.
Successfully completes required pharmacology competency assessment.
Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to utilize appropriate channels of communication.
Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective in stressful situations.
Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to rotate shifts, assignments, and duty areas as needed.
Promotes positive working relationships within the department and across the organization.
Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to providing quality patient care.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and perform other physical activities required for patient care.
Ability to assist with patient movement, transfers, and other duties requiring physical strength and endurance.
