Position Summary:
The District Parent Liaison works collaboratively with district and school personnel to strengthen partnerships between families, schools, and the community. The Parent Liaison serves as an advocate for family engagement, assists families in accessing educational and community resources, and supports district initiatives that promote student achievement and positive school culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Family Engagement
Develop and implement district-wide family engagement programs and activities.
Foster positive relationships between families, schools, and community stakeholders.
Encourage and increase parent participation in school and district events.
Coordinate parent workshops, trainings, and informational sessions.
Assist families in understanding district policies, procedures, and educational programs.
Communication and Outreach
Serve as a primary point of contact for parents seeking information or assistance.
Maintain regular communication with families through newsletters, social media, phone calls, and other communication platforms.
Assist schools in developing effective family communication strategies.
Translate educational information into parent-friendly language.
Student and Family Support
Connect families with community resources and support services.
Assist families in navigating school-related concerns and resolving issues collaboratively.
Support attendance initiatives and efforts to improve student engagement.
Work with school staff to identify barriers impacting student success and family involvement.
Program Coordination
Coordinate district parent advisory committees and family engagement councils.
Assist with planning and implementation of district events, including registration, open houses, family nights, and community outreach activities.
Maintain records and documentation related to family engagement activities.
Collect and analyze family engagement data to support continuous improvement efforts.
Collaboration
Collaborate with principals, counselors, teachers, and community organizations to support student achievement.
Attend district and school meetings as required.
Support federal program requirements related to parent and family engagement, including Title I initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education
Associate's Degree preferred in Education, Social Work, Communications, Human Services, or a related field.
Experience
Experience working with families, schools, community organizations, or educational programs preferred.
Experience coordinating events, outreach programs, or community engagement initiatives preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders.
Knowledge of family engagement best practices.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel between district schools and community locations.
Ability to lift and carry materials related to events and workshops.
Ability to stand, walk, and communicate effectively for extended periods.
Performance Expectations:
Increase parent and family participation in district and school activities.
Strengthen school-home communication.
Support district goals related to student achievement, attendance, and school culture.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of family engagement efforts.
Salary:
