This position will be located onsite at the Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
Job Overview
Nova Space Solutions (NSS) is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to support NASA operations. This position oversees logistics, warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and customer service activities to ensure efficient movement of materials and equipment while supporting operational requirements. The Logistics Supervisor provides leadership to logistics personnel, manages inventory and transportation processes, and works closely with internal stakeholders to support contract and mission objectives.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
Oversee inventory management activities, including inventory accuracy, material control, aging inventory reduction, and disposition of obsolete materials
Develop logistics processes and procedures supporting contract, task order, and operational requirements
Coordinate the movement of materials and supplies to support customer demand while controlling costs
Develop and maintain transportation processes and systems to support operational needs
Manage receiving, warehousing, distribution, and material handling operations
Coordinate customer service activities and support resolution of customer issues and concerns
Analyze logistics and supply chain data to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve operational performance
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including hazardous materials requirements
Maintain warehouse security procedures and safeguards for materials, equipment, and inventory
Coordinate vehicle utilization and planned maintenance activities
Monitor operational performance and recommend process improvements
Prepare reports, presentations, and analyses for management as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise logistics, warehousing, transportation, inventory, and customer service functions
Support operational execution of awarded contracts and task orders through effective logistics planning and coordination
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to maintain appropriate stock levels and reduce obsolete or excess inventory
Ensure compliance with applicable transportation, hazardous materials, safety, and regulatory requirements
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Support workforce development through employee coaching, performance management, training, and talent development
Partner with internal departments to support customer satisfaction and operational objectives
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation Management, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, supply chain, or related operations
Experience with inventory management, transportation coordination, warehouse operations, and customer service
Knowledge of logistics and supply chain best practices
Experience analyzing operational data and implementing process improvements
Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business software systems
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Valid driver's license
Ability to obtain and maintain required NASA site access and credentials
Preferred:
Experience supporting NASA, Federal, or government contractor environments
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory systems, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Experience managing hazardous materials logistics and transportation compliance
Experience supporting contract operations, task orders, and government programs
Working Conditions:
Work performed in office, warehouse, industrial, and operational environments
Frequent interaction with employees, customers, vendors, and operational personnel
Occasional exposure to warehouse, transportation, and material handling operations
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.
