This position is responsible for providing technical support and guidance to poultry producers to ensure the proper care, health, and comfort of company-owned birds. The role focuses on optimizing flock performance, maintaining high production standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Advise producers on best practices related to housing, equipment specifications, litter management, and farm sanitation
Conduct routine farm visits to assess bird comfort, flock management, and equipment settings
Monitor flock performance, including bird health, egg production, body weight, and conformation, and provide corrective recommendations when needed
Direct feed programs and lighting schedules to optimize bird performance
Track feed consumption and collect blood and fat samples as required
Coordinate bird placements and assist with catch schedules
Ensure effective communication between farms and key operational teams, including hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul
Maintain compliance with production contracts, USDA regulations, and other applicable government standards
Support continuous improvement efforts to achieve high-quality production at the lowest cost
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a related field
Skills: Basic computer proficiency
Work Conditions
Schedule typically ranges from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility required
Must be available for on-call duties (24/7 as needed)
Occasional travel required (approximately 1-5 trips per year)
