Manufacturing Engineer III

              ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (List in order of priority)



  • Research, design and develop optimal, cost-effective processes and methods in accordance with specifications and quality standards using LEAN principles.

  • Support SQDC and participate in Rapid Improvement Events.

  • Prepare facility layouts as needed. • Conduct time studies of production to develop standard work for production cells and to create and maintain SOPs.

  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) for new and improved products.

  • Manage large capital projects including writing capital requests and installation of new equipment.

  • Develop and maintain SOP’s and Standard Work for assigned operations.

  • Provide technical support/solutions to the manufacturing processes.

  • Drive cost reduction and optimal quality.

  • Order tooling and fixtures needed in assigned department.

  • Resolve complex quality issues including field complaints, warranty issues and defective parts.

  • Monitor quality discrepancies, identify trends and investigate quality problems and implement corrective actions.

  • Work with Procurement to conduct make/buy analysis for all new parts

  • Prepare cost estimates for Accounting.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts within the department.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES



  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Solid written and oral communication skills essential for the role.

  • Proven ability to take initiative and anticipate needs, work independently with minimal guidance.

  • Demonstrated acumen for solving complex problems and prioritizing workload.

  • Demonstrated effective decision making skills are required

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others required.

  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required


REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE



  • Five to nine years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required.

  • Experienced in leading project teams required.

  • Strong knowledge of fabrication and machining required.

  • Experience with developing and meeting project schedules; along with contingency plans.

  • Experience in utilizing high mix/volume manufacturing methods, procedures and cost-reduction techniques using Lean manufacturing tools: including 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Pull Systems, Cellular Manufacturing and Kaizen events.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required

  • PMP Certification preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.
