Position Summary

The Emergency Room Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) delivers highâ??quality, timely care to patients with urgent and emergent medical needs. Working under the supervision of an Emergency Medicine physician, the APP performs assessments, orders tests, provides treatments, and supports patient stabilization in a fastâ??paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.

 

Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, Xâ??rays, and EKGs.

 

Perform procedures including wound repair, splinting, IV placement, and medication administration.

 

Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with ER physicians.

 

Document patient care accurately in the medical record.

 

Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team.

 

Assist with triage and patient flow during highâ??volume periods.

 

Required Qualifications

Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).

 

Certification in Emergency Medicine or relevant specialty preferred.

 

Current state license, BLS, and ACLS; PALS recommended.

 

Strong clinical assessment and decisionâ??making skills.

 

Work Environment

Fastâ??paced emergency department with varied patient acuity.

 

Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Collaborative team setting with physicians, nurses, and support staff.
