BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALIST II (PSYCHOMETRIST) WORK LOCATION: Long Beach Campus, 1170 West Railroad St., Long Beach, MS 39560 PAY: $49,789.00 SHIFT: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM JOB DESCRIPTION: Fourth-level professional work which involves providing psychotherapeutic interventions (individual, group, and family therapy), developing intervention strategies, ensuring the implementation of the strategies, and initiating treatment plans. Under the direct supervision and oversight of an appropriately licensed or certified Behavioral Health professional, individuals in this classification also perform screening assessments of behavioral and emotional functioning, intelligence, achievement, and adaptive functioning. May serve in supervisory roles based on organizational/facility guidelines and may provide direct supervision to employees in less advanced classifications. Needs and in-home personal care services to ensure clients remain as independent as possible in both the home and community-based setting. RESPONSIBILITIES: This is professional work in administering diagnostic psychological techniques designed to appraise intelligence, memory, personality and other psychological functions to identify any mental health intervention needs and/or behavioral intervention needs. It also involves conducting individual and group therapy, developing intervention strategies, ensuring the implementation of the strategies and initiating Behavior Support plans. All duties and/or assignments will be performed under supervision of the Community Home Director or Unit Manager. Serves as psychometrist for the Diagnostic Services interdisciplinary team. • Interviews subjects for pertinent psychological data. • Administers, scores, and interprets psychometric instruments accurately and proficiently, utilizing standardized procedures • Writes psychological evaluation report based on clinical interviews, records reviews, observations, and test results, providing detailed justification to support offered DSM-5-TR diagnoses and recommendations, and within the scope of DOM/DMH eligibility criteria. • Uses clinical judgment in determining the specific measure of intellectual ability to be administered • Interprets test findings to relatives, administrators, interdisciplinary team members, and other qualified or approved persons. • Demonstrates knowledge of various service options, eligibility for services, and community resources • Uses equipment such as desktop computer, tablet computer, scanner, copy machine, fax machine • Uses applicable computer software to complete job duties • Uses Division of Medicaid's LTSS electronic record system • Complies with all Diagnostic Services and SMRC policies and procedures and DMH requirements • Other tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Master's Degree in a related field acceptable to the hiring agency (Psychology, Counseling, Counselor Education, Community Counseling, or Psychometry), a minimum of 5-6 years of experience and full licensure or certification (LPC, LMFT, LM/CSW, L/CMHT, L/CIDDT, L/CAT). Must be eligible to drive a State of Mississippi vehicle. Must present a valid Driver’s License from Mississippi or a contiguous state and proof of auto insurance. Must have successfully completed courses related to direct administration of adaptive, achievement, and intelligence tests. One course must be specific to the Wechsler Intelligence Tests. Must have at least 2 years of experience administering/scoring/interpreting individual intellectual assessments.
