This Opportunity is for a 9434/Accounting Team Lead – State – Open Competitive Hire with a state agency work location in Hinds County - Jackson, MS.

JOB DUTIES: This position will perform the following duties: Supervise staff responsible for recording monthly accounting entries in the MDES accounting system (FARS) and preparing monthly financial reports. Oversee staff responsible for drawing federal funds from multiple grant sources. Supervise the Accounts Receivable unit, including recording payments and performing monthly reconciliations for reporting purposes. Oversee the WIOA Contracts unit and the preparation of monthly cash requests to local workforce areas. Manage staff working in the ETPL system related to budgeting and invoice processing. Perform other duties as assigned. All candidates must have a valid driver’s license and pass an extensive background check.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-6 years of experience.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university

Preferred Experience:

5 years of experience related the described duties. Also, 5 – 6 years of supervisory experience

Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities related to performance of job:

Knowledge of State accounting system (MAGIC). Knowledge of Federal grants.
