Position Location
This position is located onsite at the Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
Job Overview
The Incumbent assists with the operation of the finance department to include the Accounts Payable, Payroll, Billing, Project Accounting, General Ledger, and other accounting functions.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Perform cost analysis and support month end close activities.
* Review and resolve cost file discrepancies and reporting errors.
* Analyze contract costs and labor metrics for accuracy and compliance.
* Provide financial data, insights, and support to internal stakeholders.
* Build and maintain annual and mid year operating plans and forecasts.
* Prepare monthly billings, accruals, and financial adjustments.
* Establish and update financial baselines; monitor variances.
* Participate in recurring financial and program review meetings.
* Respond to ad hoc financial data and reporting requests.
* Conduct peer reviews of proposals and contract modifications.
* Support indirect rate development and cost allocation processes.
* Analyze actuals versus projections and identify key variances.
* Review monthly charging and labor utilization for accuracy.Accountable For:

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting. Five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience may be substituted for formal education requirement.
* Experience using standardized payroll software for data entry, processing, and inquiry.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate level or higher.
* Customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
* Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
* U.S. Citizenship.
