This Position is for a Human Services Director with a community action agency in Indianola. Duties include but not limited to: Under supervision of the Chief Executive Officer; Directs the implementation of the CSBG/LIHEAP Case Management Unit; Emergency Food & Shelter and Low-Income Weatherization Assistance programs; Supervising the staff in the unit; Conducting orientation workshops; Establishing linkage with social service agencies within the area; Monitors the contracts to ensure the goals and objectives are being met; Prepares project applications for annual renewal. Requirements include: Master's Degree in Social Work or Social Science; Two (2) years of experience working with economic development or social programs; Current social work license valid by the State of Mississippi; Knowledge of basic record and filing systems; Demonstrated skill of written and oral communicating; Ability to organize required tasks, cooperate with others, follow policy/procedures and relate effectively with families and other social services professionals, and the general public; Ability to communicate and manage a crisis situation; Ability to become familiar with community agencies and their policies/procedures; Must have a valid drivers license and be able to travel out of area; Must continuously listen, visualize and communicate verbally and in writing; Must demonstrate positive and personal attributes in professionalism, honesty and integrity. Physical demands and work conditions: Must have a physical examination; Must be able to operate basic office machinery; Must have high energy level and be capable of handling pressure situations both mentally and physically; Must occasionally kneel, twist and have the ability to grasp firmly.
