Summary: First-level Attorney responsible for assisting in the handling of legal matters including cases concerning fraud, federal or state regulations, and state leases and contracts; and implementing state procedures. The work may include analyzing and interpreting state, federal and agency regulations; preparing documents and instruments for administrative and executive decisions and actions; representing the state or agencies in court; and performing legal research and preparing legal briefs. Positions at this level may work under the direction of a higher-level attorney.

Requires membership in the Mississippi State Bar Association.
