Sr. Human Resources Generalist
Position Overview:
This role owns key components of the full employee lifecycle—recruitment, onboarding, development, engagement, payroll & benefits administration, safety coordination, and offboarding—ensuring a consistent and exceptional experience for employees across the U.S. and Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer benefits programs for all U.S. and Canadian employees, including enrollments, terminations, vendor integrations, reporting, invoicing, and employee communication.
- Support site-level payroll and Canadian payroll, ensuring accurate deductions, tax updates, benefit feeds, and funding reports.
- Lead the new hire experience by coordinating recruitment activities, extending offers, conducting orientation, and facilitating an efficient and positive onboarding process.
- Support global immigration and expatriate processes by serving as the primary contact for external immigration counsel and assisting with visas, work permits, employment documentation, housing coordination, and cultural integration for new hires and existing employees.
- Support performance reviews, merit increases, development plans, corrective action processes, and internal transfers.
- Support employee engagement through the planning of recognition programs, cultural activities, and proactive communications.
- Deliver training on HR processes, development topics, and site procedures to employees and leaders.
- Maintain HR systems including HRIS, ATS, SharePoint, and Teams; ensure all employee files and I-9 records are accurate and organized.
- Prepare and support compliance reporting such as EEO-1, nondiscrimination testing, AIR reports (Canada), and internal/external audits.
- Support EHS and Workers’ Compensation programs, including return-to-work coordination and safety-related employee processes.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure a compliant, well-structured offboarding process that supports organizational learning and a professional transition for departing employees.
- Provide accurate HR metrics, dashboards, and project support to improve HR efficiency and employee experience.
- Manage employee relations matters, provide guidance to managers, and deliver clear and consistent HR support.
Required Qualification, Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business or related field required.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role with increasing responsibility.
- Direct work experience with employee relations is preferred.
- Self-starter.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Analytical.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize needs.
Additional Information
Travel: 0 – 10%
Physical Demands: Lifting a minimum of 25lbs, occasionally. Position is a desk position. Long periods of computer and/or phone are required.
