Acara Solutions is seeking a Project Estimator / Coordinator to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity located in Columbus MS

Position Summary
The Bid & Estimate Coordinator supports the preparation, coordination, and submission of project bids and cost estimates. This role ensures all bid documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time while assisting project managers and estimators throughout the bidding process. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction and maintenance environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage bid opportunities, proposals, and related documentation.
Review bid invitations, plans, and specifications to identify project scope and requirements.
Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist with material and labor cost estimates in collaboration with the Estimating Manager.
Maintain and update bid tracking logs, submission schedules, and project databases.
Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing, lead times, and availability.
Verify estimates for compliance with company standards, accuracy, and formatting guidelines.
Review bid documents for completeness and ensure adherence to client and project requirements.
Prepare and distribute bid submittals, supporting documents, and addenda.
Assist in developing cost summaries, proposal spreadsheets, and presentation materials.
Support project managers and field teams by providing estimate data and clarifications.
Maintain organized digital and physical records of bid submissions and project documentation.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
2 years minimum experience in estimating, bidding, or project coordination (construction or traffic maintenance industry preferred).
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
Experience with estimating or project management software preferred.
