HEAD WOMEN'S SOCCER COACH



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED


 


Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher learning. Successful coaching experience in soccer. Excellent communication and organizational skills.


 







QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED


 


Master's degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher learning. Three years' successful coaching experience in women's soccer at the college level. Excellent communication, organizational and recruiting skills.


 







JOB DESCRIPTION


 


General Statement of Function: The head coach is responsible for scheduling, promoting, developing, coordinating, recruiting, evaluating and implementing all aspects of the sports program as well as abide by all national, state and Institutional rules and policies pertaining to athletes. 


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and direct all aspects of the program.

  • Supervise and direct the activities of assistant coaches, if applicable.

  • Be knowledgeable of and abide by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) rules and regulations.

  • Evaluate assistant coaches, if applicable, annually.

  • Plan, organize and schedule all events pertaining to ICC's sports program following national, state and institutional guidelines.

  • Recruit and supervise student-athletes with both integrity and a professional attitude.

  • Monitor all student-athletes’ conduct and behavior in the classroom, student housing and college-related events on- and off-campus and use appropriate discipline when necessary.

  • Ensure that all practices for student-athletes are planned and operate in a manner to provide quality instruction and conditioning.

  • Purchase needed equipment and supplies annually.

  • Responsible for making scholarship offers and securing student-athletes annually while abiding by institutional, MACCC and NJCAA rules and guidelines.

  • Monitor all athletically-related scholarships for student-athletes. Assist in submitting athletic eligibility reports to the state and national offices.

  • Actively monitor and help maintain all facilities and address maintenance needs and issues promptly.

  • Secure all facilities following practices and games.

  • Prepare and recommend to the Director of Athletics an annual budget and keep expenditures within that budget.

  • Submit all purchase requisitions and travel requests to the Athletics Director in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate all physical examinations for student-athletes and provide them to the Athletics Directot

  • Assist Athletics with all drug screenings, medical claims and insurance forms.

  • Provide a comprehensive list of student-athletes to the Athletics Director and Vice President of Instructional Services each time student-athletes will miss instructional time for home or away events. The list should include date, time of departure and time of return.

  • Receive and assist visiting teams prior to home events.

  • Maintain accurate statistics for the athletic program and report appropriate statistics and outcome of events to the media.

  • Attend local and state athletic meetings.

  • Participate in institutional fundraisers and actively seek fundraising opportunities for ICC's athletic program.

  • Serve as a public relations representative of the college through an active role in public speaking and other opportunities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
