This is a Health Physicist in Stennis Space Center, Mississippi

Summary: The incumbent will perform and document radiation dose rate surveys, contamination surveys, airborne surveys and evaluate collected data and make recommendations for path forward/corrective actions of radiological issues.

Duties & Responsibilities: Collect and analyze field samples/surveys. Document and evaluate data with minimal oversight from management. Ensure completed documentation is filed correctly In accordance with NASA and NSS requirements. Support audits as required by NASA and NSS.

Requirements and Qualifications: 4-year college degree in a science discipline. 3-10 years of field experience. 6 months of classroom training in radiological theory, hazards, handling and equipment use. Experience can be substituted for education. Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain required NASA badge. Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire). Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner. Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID driver’s license. Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.
