Revenue Accountant

This is a Job Description for a Revenue Accountant in Jackson, Mississippi


Summary: We are seeking a proactive and strategic Sr. Revenue Accountant to join our finance team. This is more than a compliance role; you will be a key business partner, providing critical insights that shape our go-to-market strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Duties & Responsibilities: Own the end-of-end review of complex, non-standard sales contracts to ensure revenue is recognized accurately under ASC 606. Manage key areas of the revenue month-end close, from preparing complex journal entries and reconciliations to delivering insightful flux analysis to leadership. Drive continuous improvement by proactively identifying inefficiencies in the quote-to-cash process and implementing scalable best practices. Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external audits, preparing PBC schedules and independently addressing auditor inquiries. Lead technical accounting research on new or unusual revenue scenarios, document findings in memos, and present conclusions to accounting leadership. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal and operations, to support the revenue process. Prepare and maintain documentation supporting revenue recognition policies and procedures. Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by management. We are a remote-first company and work happens across many time-zones – you may be required to occasionally perform duties outside your standard working hour


 Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or progress towards CPA certification strongly preferred. 1-2 years of public accounting experience working on public companies and 2-3 in industry performing technical revenue accounting. A proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of projects from start to finish in a fast-paced environment. Experience with consumption is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with NetSuite ARM. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present information clearly and concisely
