Location:Pascagoula, MS
Position Overview: The Environmental Coordinator will be responsible for managing the facility's air, waste, water, and dredge programs, implementation of Company HSE policies, and monitoring processes for adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Implements facility environmental policies and procedures
Conducts environmental inspections, monitoring, sampling, and recordkeeping for compliance with Company HSE programs and federal, state, and local regulations including: Title V air , Wastewater, Pre-treatment, Stormwater, and Dredge permits; hazardous, universal, and solid waste programs; regulatory reporting
Responsible for maintaining and training on the facility environmental programs/plans such as: Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan, Waste Minimization, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC/SPC), Dust Control Plan, VOC Housekeeping, MACT Implementation Plan, Spill Response, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWPPP)
Verifies marine coating compliance and completion of records
Ensures proper handling, storage, and disposal of waste
Collaborates with shipyard departments to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Performs tasks safely and efficiently.
Point of contact for facility environmental initiatives
Assists with external audits conducted by regulatory agencies
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in environmental management including Air, Water, and/or Waste program compliance and regulatory recordkeeping
Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental science or related technical discipline is a plus
Skills and Abilities:
Strong program management skills
Proven track record in coordinating environmental inspections, trainings, and meetings
Working knowledge of environmental regulations including air quality, water discharge, and waste management, within the shipbuilding and repair industry preferred
Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement environmental initiatives to assist in achieving facility goals
Highly organized with analytical problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently or with a team
Must possess basic computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
