The Peer Support Specialist helps individuals to regain control of their lives and their own recovery and resiliency process.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist clients toward person-centered activities that allow them and their family members the opportunity to direct their own recovery and advocacy processes.
· Adhere to quality assurance guidelines.
· Provide all required documentation pertinent to provision of services.
· Participate in all training required by the Department of Mental Health and LIFECORE Health Group to maintain current credentials.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Current or former client or first-degree family member of an individual who has received treatment for and self-identifies as a client or former mental health client.
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
· Demonstration of a minimum of twelve months in self-directed recovery
· Completion of at least one of the Department of Mental Health’s recognized peer support training programs.
· Department of Mental Health’s certification as a Peer/Family Support Specialist
· Valid Driver’s License
· Valid Car Insurance
Working Conditions:
· Work locations include schools and clients’ homes.
