Position: Nurse Practitioner
Location: Simpson General Hospital Medical Clinic(s)
Status: PRN
Schedule: Varies
Reports To: Chief of Staff / Clinic Director
About the Role:
As a Nurse Practitioner at SGH, you'll provide autonomous, patient-centered care in our clinic setting. You'll diagnose and treat a range of health conditions, develop personalized care plans, and educate patients to support long-term wellness. What You'll Do:
Perform clinical assessments, exams, and diagnoses
Order lab tests and interpret results
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
Prescribe medications within scope of practice
Conduct routine procedures and provide follow-up care
Refer patients to specialists as needed
Deliver general and preventive healthcare
Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality care
Follow hospital protocols and safety procedures, including PPE and infection control
Participate in clinical rounding and complete documentation in EMRs
Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Master's degree required)
Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience preferred
Current Mississippi NP licensure (Family, Adult, or Acute Care)
Prescriptive authority (Mississippi BON & DEA)
BLS certification
Skills & Strengths:

Excellent bedside manners and interpersonal communication
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of healthcare laws, safety standards, and EMRs
Organized, dependable, and compassionate under pressure
Physical Requirements:
Able to walk and stand for extended periods
Use of hands and upper body strength for procedures
Visual and auditory acuity to monitor patients and communicate clearly
Occasional bending, twisting, lifting, and use of protective gear
