Job Summary: The Floating District Leader will be a highly motivated and experienced retail operations leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of 8-10 Sprint Mart convenience stores within a designated region across Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. This dynamic role requires exceptional flexibility, a strong ability to adapt to varying store needs, and a deep understanding of convenience store operations. The Floating District Leader will step in to lead districts or assist stores as needed, ensuring consistent operational excellence, maximizing sales and profitability, and developing high-performing store teams that embody our commitment to the BEST customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight:

- Directly lead the daily operations of 8-10 assigned convenience stores, ensuring adherence to all company policies, procedures, and standards, with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Regularly visit stores to conduct comprehensive operational audits, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with merchandising, cleanliness, safety, and inventory control standards.
- Implement and enforce company-wide initiatives, promotions, and new product rollouts, always considering their impact on customer service.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, addressing challenges related to staffing, inventory, and equipment, while prioritizing solutions that enhance the customer journey.
- Ensure all stores are well-stocked, clean, and provide an outstanding and friendly customer experience.
- Sales and Profitability:

- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, increase average transaction size, and enhance customer loyalty within the assigned district, recognizing that the BEST customer service is a key driver of these metrics.
- Monitor financial performance of each store, analyzing sales data, gross profit margins, and controllable expenses.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, control shrink, and optimize inventory levels to support efficient operations and excellent service.
- Ensure effective cash handling procedures and loss prevention measures are in place and followed.
- Team Leadership & Development:

- Recruit, hire, train, and develop high-performing Team Leaders and their teams, emphasizing the critical importance of providing the BEST customer service in every interaction.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and mentorship to foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centricity.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and address performance issues in a timely and effective manner, focusing on service excellence.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, employee engagement, and a shared commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to meet operational needs and customer demand, ensuring no compromise on service quality.
- Floating & Adaptability:

- Serve as a critical resource, filling in for District Leaders on leave, assisting in new store openings, or providing focused support to underperforming stores as needed, always maintaining our high standards for customer service.
- Demonstrate exceptional adaptability and flexibility in navigating different store environments, teams, and challenges, quickly adapting to uphold service excellence.
- Effectively onboard and integrate with new store teams quickly to maintain operational continuity and a consistent customer service approach.
- Must be able to travel extensively and on short notice across Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana.
- Compliance & Administration:

- Ensure all stores comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including health, safety, and labor laws.
- Accurately complete all administrative duties, including reports, scheduling, and expense management.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all store operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in multi-unit retail leadership, with at least 3 years at a District Leader or equivalent level, preferably within the convenience store, quick-service restaurant, or grocery industries where customer service was a core focus.
- Proven track record of driving sales, managing profitability, and achieving operational excellence, underpinned by a commitment to superior customer service.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and lead diverse teams to deliver exceptional customer interactions.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and coaching skills, particularly in fostering a customer-first mindset.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, always with the customer experience in mind.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in retail point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 75-100% of the time) across Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, including overnight stays as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions when visiting stores.
