Campus Career Coach
SUMMARY:
The Campus Career Coach will assist students in identifying career goals through personal and group consultation. Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, career coaches will promote academic and personal success by implementing a comprehensive program that encompasses areas of personal and social development of students as well as academic and career needs. The Campus Career Coach shall be responsible to the Director of the Natchez WIN Job Center.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet one-on-one with students to determine academic and career goals.
Have students review, research, and discover interests with www.careeronestop.org to determine interests in career pathways occupations.
Screen and assist students in applying for internships, apprenticeships, and work-based learning opportunities in their area.
Have students create an online profile on the Mississippi Works website.
Plan, develop and implement exploration opportunities, including college campus visits, career fairs, industry visits, parent sessions, and similar activities.
Prepare and/or connect students to take the ACT WorkKeys assessment and if remediation is needed refer students to the appropriate instructor.
Assisting students with personal, academic, college, and career readiness.
Establish positive and trusting relationships with students.
Recruit and Navigate students through the admissions and registration process for credit and noncredit programs.
Work directly with the college to connect students to applicable programs as identified by Accelerate MS and the WIOA State Plan.
Connect industry representatives to participants through job shadowing and mentoring opportunities for further career exploration and to build interest in local workforce opportunities.
Identify and assist students with potential sources of financial support, including financial aid, ITA, and other funding that is available.
Assist students in understanding soft skills and how they are important to being successful in the workplace.
Assist with student orientations and registrations for college.
Improve student resume writing and interviewing skills.
Work with economic developers, businesses, associations, and local and state agencies to promote the program and build connections to local industries.
Plan, develop, and implement programs, working directly with participants' parents to educate them on workforce opportunities and educational opportunities (including available financing) for the participant.
Plan, develop, and implement strategies to reach high school graduates who have not obtained a higher education certificate, diploma, or degree and assist them in obtaining high school certification.
Maintain accurate and complete records of participant interactions, events, and all other work assignments.
Conduct WIOA Career Service enrollments according to policy for those participants who are deemed a good fit for case management.
Review and utilize data on retention, progression, and completion to support continuous improvement.
Refer students to supportive wraparound services that are provided by the college and our partners within the community.
Maintain and keep an accurate record of Adult Education, CTE, and Academic students in a filing system.
Keep an accurate record of monthly follow-up and case management with students.
Prepare performance reporting on a monthly basis and any other activities as required.
Ensure that student and participant confidentiality is protected according to the policies of procedures of the college.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
Three (3) years of full-time professional work experience
Case management skills
Ability to prioritize, plan work activities, and manage time effectively in order to meet multiple deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively and collectively to achieve goals
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS:
The work environment is an office setting with moderate noise.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
