Summary:

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is actively seeking a dedicated and caring Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist to provide services at a day treatment program servicing adults with SMI diagnosis. The PSR Specialist position is located in Covington County, MS. Position is M-F, no weekend or on-call duties required for this position.

 

Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (PSR) consists of a network of services designed to support and restore community functioning and well-being of adults with a serious and persistent mental illness. The purpose of this program is to promote recovery, resiliency, and empowerment of the individual in his/her community.  Program activities aim to improve reality orientation, social skills and adaptation, coping skills, effective management of time and resources, task completion, community and family integration, vocational and academic skills, and activities to incorporate the individual into independent community living; as well as to alleviate psychiatric decompensation, confusion, anxiety, disorientation, distraction, preoccupation, isolation, withdrawal and feelings of low self-worth.

  

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in behavioral health required

Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required

MS Class D required within 60 days of hire

Ability to manage multiple projects during the work day

Independent work ability

Experience working with individuals with a mental illness diagnosis a plus.

 

Responsibilities:

Provides support to the PSR program by providing assistance to adult participants and other personnel involved in the operation of the psychosocial rehabilitation program for SMI individuals with psychiatric, major medical, and/or cognitive difficulties.

Provides daily living skills training including assistance in nutrition, financial and home management, accessing community resources, recreation, pre-vocational services, development of support systems, diagnosis and medication management, etc.

Demonstrates knowledge of SMI diagnosis.

Demonstrates ability to obtain pre-authorizations for participants in a timely manner.

Provides transportation for individuals to and from program.
