BP Restore Pathway Trainer / AS1180P

This position is for a BP Restore Pathway Trainer with an educational institution in Long Beach, MS.


Job Description: The Trainer will teach Gulf Coast Work Ready classes to conduct employability skill training to individuals registered in the Gulf Coast Work Ready program for the purpose of obtaining and/or upgrading educational and employment opportunities. The Trainer will supervise the development and implementation of curriculum development of the Gulf Coast Work Ready credential.


Job Duties:



  1. Conduct Gulf Coast Work Ready classes to include employability skill training, Internet, Keyboarding, Microsoft Office classes on a daily basis.

  2. Assist in admission processes of GCWR students, as needed.

  3. Coordinate drug screening and physicals of students, as needed.

  4. Maintain effective working relationship with college personnel, Gulf Coast Work Ready program students and community members.

  5. Maintain computer lab and equipment at the MGCCC West Harrison County Center.

  6. Adhere to total training hours for each training session and alternate sessions. These sessions may include evening hours and/or alternate location.

  7. Conduct pre-employment skills workshops.

  8. Register students in the MGCCC Banner system and maintain data needed for audits and accountability reports.

  9. Assist with the development of a student Individualized Educational Training Plan (IETP) procedures and maintain student data for accountability reports.

  10. Maintain student Individualized Educational Training Plan (IETP) information as needed.

  11. Participate in budget preparation and acquisition of instructional materials and supplies as required.

  12. Submit monthly teaching schedule to be approved by the Dean of West Harrison County Center & Special Projects.

  13. Consistently upgrade skill levels and performance through professional development.

  14. Attend assigned meetings and participate in college activities.

  15. Assist with Gulf Coast Work Ready recruitment events when appropriate.

  16. Adhere to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College calendar, policies and procedures.

  17. Provide custom workshops and assessment sessions for other groups as requested.

  18. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Dean of West Harrison County Center & Special Projects.


Mandatory Qualifications:


(M1) Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business, or related field.


(M2) Three (3) years teaching experience.


(M3) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.


Desirable Qualifications:


(D1) Master’s Degree in business, education or related field.


(D2) Microsoft and computer application experience.


(D3) Experience teaching adults.


(D4) Community college experience and/or SCT Banner experience.
