Job Description: An assistant Baseball Coach shall be responsible for assisting the Head Baseball Coach in carrying out the responsibilities and supervision of the baseball program. An Assistant Baseball Coach will report directly to the Head Baseball Coach.

Job Duties:

1. Assist the Head Coach with on-the-field coaching at practices and games.

2. Responsible for recruiting and managing players on the baseball team.

3. Responsible for game planning with the head coach as needed.

4. Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes both in-state and out-of-state.

5. Assist with preparing the baseball field for practices and games to include sweeping/blowing the field, vacuuming the field, and setting up stations.

6. Prepare travel requests for away games and recruiting trips as requested.

7. Attend all meetings requested by the Head Coach and/or College Dean of Athletics.

8. Assist the Head Coach in organizing and running scheduled baseball camps in an effort to raise funds for the baseball program.

9. Responsible for obtaining team meal money from the Business Office as needed.

10. On-site supervision of student-athletes in residential facilities in accordance with duties as outlined by the College Dean of Athletics and Head Baseball Coach.

11. Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the College Dean for Athletics or Campus Vice President.

Mandatory Qualifications:

(M1) A Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college.

(M2) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

(M3) Baseball coaching or playing experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

(D1) Coaching experience at the collegiate level.

(D2) Recruiting experience at the collegiate level.

(D3) The ability to conduct a quality off-season conditioning program.

(D4) An understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.
