Job Title:

Lean Clinic Coordinator - Orthopedic Surgery - Colony Park South

Job Summary:

Coordinate UMMC clinic teams to optimize patient flow using various process improvement techniques. Works closely with department and clinic administration, clinical providers/staff, and patients. Assists with daily clinic preparation, facilitates communication, and advocates for the patient. Assists in developing and tracks metrics to improve the patient experience in clinic.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, and one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.  Degree preferred.

 

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:  N/A

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and procedures for providing customer service.  Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to facilitate teamwork.  Knowledge of clinic processes.  Organizational skills.  Ability to lead and manage people.

 

Responsibilities

 

Coordinate and participate in clinic progression to improve patient throughput.

Compiles data to ensure patient's needs are met in a timely manner.

Provides support to anticipate and identify productivity problems and issues and communicate recommended solutions appropriately to leaders at all levels.

Provides assistance with the transfer of information between clinical providers.

Participates in clinic inventory and staff for daily operational needs.

Assist in the development of measurement tools to track and trend clinic operations efficiency.  Monitors and report appropriate indicators for maximum productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization.  Develops operational goals as needed.

Requires occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, frequent pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional twisting, and constant walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
