This is a Nurse Externship position with a company in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Summary: This job administers care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse and performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties, utilizing the Nursing Process. Provides observation of the patient and intervenes as needed to maintain patient safety. Communicates effectively with co-workers, patients, family and visitors.

Responsibilities: Effectively uses the Nursing Process in performance of a variety of patient care duties. Provides observation of the patient and intervenes as needed to maintain patient safety. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. Qualifications: Must be in an accredited nursing school in the state of Mississippi. Required – High school diploma or equivalent. Completed the sophomore or equivalent year with a hospital-based clinical rotation of a National League of Nursing accredited school program. Student in good standing with the school of nursing. Preferred – Completed the junior year with a hospital-based clinical rotation of a National League of Nursing accredited school program. Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
