This position is for a Machine Operator / Cutting Table with a company in Shannon, MS.
Summary: Hanes Industries, Inc. in Shannon, MS, a division of Leggett & Platt (NYSE: LEG), is seeking a Machine Operator. Hanes Industries is the leading converter and distributor of nonwoven and woven fabrics used in a variety of markets.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties of the employee are (but are not limited to) the following: All employees have the responsibility to identify and stop further processing of non-conformances and take action to prevent non-conformances related to products produced, processes, services provided or the Quality/Environmental Management System. All employees have the responsibility to bring forth suggestions and participate in continuous improvement process and verify the implementation of solutions. Conform to all quality/safety/environmental requirements and procedures. Read and follow instructions on converting orders. Perform routine operations on machine (load, set-up, doff) - make necessary adjustments to meet quality standards. Production reporting to be neat and accurate. Ability to lift 75 – 100 pounds. Maintain a clean and orderly workplace. Must be able to read a ruler. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Able to operate machinery including cutting table/knives. Must have cooperative attitude necessary to work effectively with others. Good communication skills (verbal & written). Must be able to follow verbal & written work instructions. Be Safety Conscious. Commitment to Management System and Continual Improvement process.
